Summer has once again broken up with us for the year and we have moved on to fall. To get through my mini depression, I decided to get into the fall spirit and bake something healthy with pumpkin, cinnamon, or nutmeg.
I decided to save the cals for another day and indulge my furry best friend – they deserve it too!
Within 30 minutes had over 100 little biscuits of love for the pup. Judging by the happy tail wag and drool, it was puppy love at first bite!
what you’ll need:
2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
2/3 can of pumpkin puree
3 tbs peanut butter
*recipe adapted from Use Real Butter
Preheat the oven to 350•F. Put all of the ingredients into a mixing bowl. Using a stand mixer with a paddle attachment, mix for about a minute. Form the dough into a ball then roll out to a 1/4 inch thickness on a floured surface. Cut shapes, strips, or squares into the dough. Place pieces on a nonstick cookie sheet. Bake 15-20 min for softer treats, 30 min for hard treats.
*I doubled the recipe to fill little mason jars for his friends
